Professional Training and Clinical experience
Professional Training
I trained as a State Registered Nurse (now GRN) and specialised in Renal Transplants and Dialysis.  I began training as a counsellor within the NHS where I worked as a Renal Transplant sister. I then completed a counselling course at St John’s College, based on a person-centred and psychodynamic model of counselling.
I then chose to train as a psychotherapist and spent three years training with the Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute (GPTI) and completed my fourth year at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI). I obtained a Masters degree (MA) in Psychotherapy from Birmingham University and registered with the UKCP as a psychotherapist. I then trained as a clinical supervisor at SPTI.
I am committed to my ongoing professional development and have recently completed a two year course on integrative psychotherapy with Richard Erskine. I am currently continuing my development in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the Oxford Cognitive Behaviour Centre.
Clinical Experience
I have worked in a variety of organisational settings, which include the NHS, a Rape Crisis Centre, a University Counselling Centre and for the mental health charity MIND. I now work in private practice seeing clients with a range of concerns. I am also a satellite counsellor for a consultancy agency where I see corporate clients for short term work.
